This is the host-seat version of our sled-base armchair: same timber runners and wraparound arm rail, but with a taller back and a separate headrest cushion, so the person who orders for the table sits a head above the rest.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame in a dark walnut tone, each side a continuous loop of front leg, runner and rear leg. The upholstered back is in two sections, the main back and a headrest, both mounted on a vertical timber spine with a round cut-out. Brass-tone caps finish the top rail and small ferrules mark the arm joints. The seat is a padded cushion on a removable pan.
Why use a host chair. Around a round hot pot or banquet table, one taller chair shows guests where the host sits and gives a private room a focal point without changing the table. Mixing one host chair with lower armchairs keeps the set matched.
Where it works. Private dining rooms in hot pot and Chinese restaurants, banquet rounds and VIP rooms.
Options. Upholstery color and material; stain; brass-tone or black details; button or plain headrest. Order in any ratio to the standard Jade Sled-Base Armchair.
