The Jade is an armchair built on runners. Each side of the frame is a continuous timber loop that forms the front leg, the floor runner and the rear leg, so the chair glides over tile rather than tipping on four points. A tall green upholstered back, a timber spine with a round cut-out and a brass-tone capped top rail complete it.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame in a dark walnut tone. The sled sides are joined to the arm rail, which wraps around the back of the seat. The upholstered back is mounted in front of a vertical timber spine; the top rail carries brass-tone end caps, and brass-tone ferrules mark the arm joints. The seat is a padded cushion on a plywood pan.
Why it suits hot pot. Hot pot guests shuffle closer and further from the pot through a meal. Sled runners slide without catching on tile grout and spread weight so they mark floors less than point legs.
Where it works. Upscale hot pot rooms, Chinese fine dining, private rooms and tea houses.
Options. Upholstery color in commercial vinyl or leather; stain; brass-tone or black metal details. We fit glides under the runners; specify hard-floor or carpet glides.
